History  (chinese text)
Ten Chinese American families originally founded the Association in 1971 so their children could learn more about Chinese culture.  Beginning as a one-room Chinese School in Northridge Park, the Association has grown steadily over 30 years, The school now boasts an enrollment of over 500 students.

SFVCCA was officially chartered and registered as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 1976.  Since then, interest in the Association has continued to climb.  Today, the Association has a membership of 1000 households.

The San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural Association plans to establish the Chinese Heritage Center, the Association's permanent home and a cornerstone of the community.  Our goal is to provide everyone with opportunities to enjoy Chinese cultural activities in a pleasant and supportive atmosphere.  This Center promises to enrich the civic and cultual diversity of Los Angeles.
